Is Your Child

Water Safe?

Float Infant Aquatics provides survival swim lessons for infants and children in Houston and Cypress, TX

These are not your typical swim lessons.

An accident only takes a few seconds to turn into a tragedy.

Does your child know how to respond?

Unlike traditional swim lessons, where your child might spend years learning how to become water-safe, Infant Aquatics® lessons equip your child with aquatic self-rescue skills in weeks.

At Float Infant Aquatics, your child will learn to enter the water from various scenarios and get to their back independently for air. Older children will learn to turn back over and swim, rolling back again when they need to rest.

These skills allow your child to respond to an accidental fall in the water, fatigue during recreational swimming, or even something as quick as stepping off the bench or steps.

Benefits of Swim Lessons for Young Children

Improved Motor Skills

Early swim lessons play a crucial role in enhancing motor skills in young children. The water provides a unique opportunity for children to engage their muscles and refine their motor skills.

Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in children ages
1-4. By providing them with the skills and confidence to respond to an accidental fall in the water, these lessons set the stage for a lifetime of safe, happy swimming!

Drowning Prevention

Cognitive Development

Swimming is a great way to enhance cognitive skills like problem-solving, memory, and spatial awareness by promoting coordination, balance, and concentration.

I want to be a part of the solution to end childhood drowning.

Every family needs to be aware of the dangers and be educated on what they can do to prepare their little ones to learn to be safe around water.

The ability to roll to their back and get air on their own is your child’s most reliable flotation device!

At Float Infant Aquatics, we turn beginners into safe, confident swimmers—starting at 8 months old!

  • This 6 week program teaches infants 8-12 months to roll over from a face down position into an independent back float. Lessons are one-on-one, 3-4 days a week, 15 minutes long for 6 consecutive weeks.

  • This 6 week program teaches toddlers and younger children the swim-float-swim sequence. Children will learn to swim a short distance, roll onto their backs to float, rest to breathe, and flip back into swim. The Swim Float Swim sequence serves as the foundation for future stroke development. Lessons are one on one, 3-4 days a week, 15 minutes long for 6 consecutive weeks.

  • We do offer stroke development classes for older children who can float on their back independently and must be able to swim 15 feet independently with proper breath control. 30 minute lessons. Assessment required.

  • We encourage you to continue classes to allow your child to progress to the next swimming level. Maintenance lessons are available after completion of the initial 6 weeks in our Fall, Spring, and Summer sessions.

  • Many of us are familiar with traditional swim programs. They are based on guided exploration, and tend to focus on learning to feel confident and comfortable in the water before establishing any sort of real competence. Often, children will be in these lessons for months or years before they’re fully independent in the water.

This can be dangerous. With drowning as the leading cause of death for children ages 1-4, our children don’t have time to wait months or years before becoming water-safe.

Infant Aquatics® lessons focus on safety from the very first lesson. Using specific techniques and a time-tested curriculum, these lessons take your child from beginner to swimmer in weeks. Infants and children will learn independent self-rescue skills that allow them to respond to an unexpected event in the water.

Once your child masters these essential skills, they can continue lessons and learn how to utilize them during play and stroke development classes!

  • Yes!

All New Swimmer classes are 1:1 lessons. This is the best way to ensure your child is getting high quality instruction during their water time.

While your child’s instructor will follow a set curriculum, they are able to tailor each lesson to your child’s age and unique abilities.

  • Many people think they’re “fine” if they don’t have a backyard pool.

Water is all around us though!

From ponds to hotels, beaches, friends’ pools, to community rec centers, the chances of your child spending time around the water are very high.

And despite our best supervision, we can’t always have eyes on our children.

Drowning is fast, and it is silent.

While no one is drown-proof, these lessons buy you time when seconds matter most.

  • Survival swim lessons are completely different than traditional swim lessons.

If your child has been in traditional lessons for years with no results, that’s ok! They can still learn these skills in weeks!

  • We teach children as young as 8 months how to roll to their backs for air and maintain an independent back float!

Children 1-3 can also start as beginners and learn the swim-float-swim sequence!
